Wonderful reading!
Brought back many childhood memories.
Philadelphia Thanksgiving Day Parade we always got our hot chocolate at the H&H automat, 13th & Market, to keep us warm while we watched parade go by!

I grew up in New York City and always enjoyed a visit to the Automat in Manhattan. I felt so grown up when my mom handed me a dollar to get nickels in return. Picking out meals and which pie to eat was fantastic. This book , the history and the recipes is a magic door to my childhood in the 1950s.... fantastic!!

I grew up eating at Horn and Hardart at least twice a week ..there aren't enough recipes in the book and i think it would be amazing and very successful to recreate it..Susan
