Purchased this book as a gift for my husband to add to our ever growing collection of golden age history. The book is exceptionally well done and gave us a great look into the history of the Automat. A great gift idea for anyone who loves history!

I have had the book for years, but was thrilled it came back into print. I gave it to my freind and she loved it. A wonderful book!

My maternal grandfather’s first job when he came to the US was making coffee at Horn & Hardart. Loved reading the book and the comments from people that ate at the restaurant over the decades.

Love the book!!!! Brought back memories of when we went to H&H with family. I do wish there were more recipes in the book, however. Also, why doesn’t the rice pudding recipe have the raisins ??

A really cute book about the history of the automat! Smaller than it looks in the pictures so not a full size coffee table book. It was the perfect gift for my dad who went to Horn and Hardart’s growing up! Lots of fun information and cool to have original recipes as well. Recommend for someone who is into old time restaurant and Philadelphia history.
